Empowering Youth Through Social And Emotional Skills Development
The Nyota Social and Emotional Skills Development Program in Lare Ward, Njoro, was designed to equip young people with essential life skills that foster personal growth, resilience, and success. Through interactive learning sessions, participants gained practical knowledge in communication, teamwork, leadership, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving.
Hands-On Learning in a Real ICT Environment
Young people today face numerous challenges, including unemployment, peer pressure, and uncertainty about the future. The training provided a safe and supportive environment where participants could build confidence, strengthen their decision-making abilities, and develop positive relationships with their peers and communities. By focusing on both personal and social development, the program helped youths recognize their potential and prepare for opportunities ahead.
Mentorship, Skills Development & Career Readiness
The sessions encouraged active participation, self-reflection, and collaboration. Through group discussions, mentorship, and practical activities, participants learned how to manage emotions, resolve conflicts, work effectively in teams, and communicate with confidence. These skills are critical not only for employment and entrepreneurship but also for becoming responsible and productive members of society.Empowering young people with social and emotional skills is more than training—it is an investment in their future. When youths gain confidence, resilience, communication, and leadership skills, they become better prepared to overcome challenges, seize opportunities, and positively transform their communities.

March 20, 2026 at 10:43 amThis program helped me build confidence, improve my communication skills, and learn how to work effectively with others. I especially enjoyed the tree-planting activity because it showed us how we can contribute to our community while protecting the environment. I am grateful for the opportunity by H.E The President, William Ruto EGH, to be part of this training.
